這是一部在生存與毀滅間行走的戰爭電影。在戰爭廢墟的慷慨悲歌中，年輕的紅軍戰士洪啟辰接到軍令，必須在48小時內炸毀敵人的彈藥庫。這是一條赴死的軍令，他開始在危機四伏的群山裏集結戰友，帶領傷殘的同澤和敵人殊死搏鬥。同時洪啟辰還經曆著戰友們對於為何赴死的拷問，和大家相繼死去的困境。時間一分一秒過去，任務似乎越來越不可能完成。有人因為信仰而選擇堅持，有人忠於使命而毅然犧牲。影片用中國詩性電影美學講述了中國1935年一次富有革命忠誠的軍事行動，將殘酷幻化於詩意，共同參與一次具有使命感的向死而生。
