《毒梟：墨西哥》第 2 季繼續講述米格爾·安赫爾·費利斯·加拉多的故事，他現在是墨西哥第一大販毒集團（瓜達拉哈拉販毒集團）的教父，一直在努力保持對各方勢力的掌控，發展自己的帝國，在成為教父的路上不斷調和所麵對的背叛與犧牲。隨著販毒集團不同“廣場”之間的摩擦加劇，費利斯對局勢的掌控也隨之減弱。同時，販毒集團手上的血債（緝毒局探員奇奇·卡馬雷納之死）和腐敗的政治家在墨西哥引發了一係列因果報應。由堅定的緝毒局探員沃爾特·布列斯林領導的“萊茵達行動”並不總是按常規出牌，且矛頭直指費利斯·加拉多和他的心腹，進一步導致了販毒集團的不穩定和動蕩。
